The change reflects the credit union's commitment to future growth while continuing its longstanding tradition of friendly, local service. “Changing our name allows us to better prepare for growth beyond the gates of Schofield Barracks and to better serve our members and the communities where they live,” said Ron Aoki, President/CEO of Signia Credit Union. “Our new name will help us better represent everyone we serve while still honoring our proud history serving our military members and the Schofield community.” The name change does not affect anyone’s accounts or funds, and the credit union is not changing ownership. “We are still the same credit union with the same staff our members have always depended on,” Aoki said. “This name change is about the potential to grow so we can continue improving the lives of our members and building a stronger community.” The name Signia is inspired by the word “insignia,” symbolizing the pride, purpose, and service represented by the military. Signia Credit Union embodies these values and reflects the organization's commitment to delivering an elevated level of service that goes above and beyond, every time.
